Food entry for Auckland

I figured that at some point, food should be a topic for one of my blog entries. For the sake of interest & indulgence. :) I eat to live, but hey, what can I say - might as well love it while you're at it (eating, that is).

I've compiled a list of top eats during my brief stay at Auckland. Here goes:

5. Fish & Chips (el cheapo and big serving sizes. You can't go wrong when ordering at most Chinese takeaways. Standard price = $5)

4. Triple chocolate cookie at Mrs Higgins Oven Fresh Cookies (turns out they have it at Welly too)

3. Roast beef meal at Skymetro

2. Most of the Asian meals at Food Alley (the Msian food there ain't fantastic but Indon/Thai/Vietnam food there are thumbs up). You can find this food court at Albert street a short distance to the harbour.

Numero Uno goes to... The lamb pato + chicken yeni yellow rice combo at the Intl Food Court by Queen street!


You can find it at the Brazilian food shop. If you happen to be served by a friendly fella by the name of Abraham, tell him Leon said hi. Nice guy :)

And no, Fast Food doesn't make the list. However, honourable mention goes to Wendy's for serving quick and easy $5 double cheeseburger meals. Other than that, food can be quite pricy in NZ. For instance, BK.
